5th annual Portland Pride Comedy Showcase with Jason Stuart!
Hosted by Seattle transwoman comedian, Barbara Sehr start your Pride weekend off with 2 chances for laughs courtesy Jason Stuart and Belinda Carroll. I’d try to drink some coffee and stay up for the later show as after 11 it’s R rated (though c’mon, we’re Portland, we can take NC-17).
This NW Pride comedy showcase’s 5th anniversary has the pleasure of bringing you Jason Stuart, a 20 year comedy veteran with appearances on LOGO,NBC, Comedy Central and so much more! The prolific character actor has a Stand-Up Special, Jason Stuart: Making it to the Middle and CD Jason Stuart: Gay Comedy Without A Dress under his belt and just completed in Love is Strange opposite John Lithgow, Alfred Molina & Marisa Tomei.

Queerlandia
Now in its 3rd (4th? I dunno, I’m getting old) year, Queerlandia is becoming the traditional kickoff for Portland Pride and also a reminder that Embers, the only gay bar still sporting prominent rainbows in a very visible area downtown, is still a thing. It’s a particularly great start because it features not only the club vibe dance party but also a craft fair, performances and 2 rooms to give you room to create the Pride that’s right for you.
Host Serendipity Jones will guide you through a stage that is bound to be energetic with performances from Carla Rossi + the Gays of Future Past and there are so many DJs you’ll be exhausted dancing (yeah on a Thursday) through the sets of:
Riff-Raff (Shade | Seattle’s Opulent Queer Empire)
Sappho (Turnt Up!/Chicken Strip/Hard Yes)
HOLD MY HAND (Bridge Club/Polari)
Orographic (Queerlandia/Bridge Club)
Huf N Stuf (Queerlandia/Bridge Club)
And in the chiller corner are caricatures by Tuna Doodle and goods to quench your local shopping thirst by Scrafts, Bang Bang Crafts and more.
And lest you forget that being gay wasn’t always (and still isn’t always) just a big party, it is also a benefit for Bradley Angle’s LGBTQ domestic violence services.

Panty Raid
This coolest super underground (it’s in a goddamn Bodega people so bring your cash and I hope you don’t want a cocktail) is having its own Pride Edition. Because it’s tiny but popular expect to get your sweat on, which is a good thing in my opinion and head their sound advice:
please be cool and invite your friends. dont bring some rando everyone hates. dont bring your friend that everyone else thinks is an asshole.
we’re just trying to get our freak number set right. dig.
Be ready for the close up go-go-ing of Ryan Lass and stylings of residents Roy-G-Biv and Aaron Boeke and guest L Train. Hosted by Amoania and performances (quite literally in your face I’m guessing and maybe on top of some Rice a Roni shelving) Du Oh Meg.
And yes, there is a makeout room and patio.

Control Top presents Rye Rye
Organizer and DJ Roy-G-Biv aka Katey Pants knows how to throw a party. Lines have gone around the block for the past 2 years this Pride event has gone down. This year you can avoid that stress (and save 3 bucks) by getting pre-sale tix. And believe me you’ll want to. With young Rye Rye, the future of hip hop headlining the bill this party is bound to be more popular than ever.
Hosted by the flawless Chanticleer Tru (of Magic Mouth and other projects), musical performances by Rye Rye and Bomb Ass Pussy, and DJ stylings of Roy G Biv, Nark, Mr. Sister and Gossip Cat this might just be the party to be at Saturday night for the queer crowd.

Gaylabration
Sometimes you just need a big damn circuit party. This is the classic gay dance vibe but with good Portland peeps, and there ain’t nothing wrong with that.
DJ Tristan Jaxx’s hard-hitting signature brand of visceral house music commands an enthralling blend of deep, pounding sound, larger-than-life vocals and vast & voluminous instrumentals.
Isaiah Esquire is the producer and headliner of the hit bi monthly show Boyeurism, which has always made me swoon. His performance style that is intensely emotive, athletic, and explosive incorporating elements of dance, burlesque, drag, and contortion.
John-Nuriel Yeshua Vissell (Johnny Nuriel) fuses burlesque, belly dance, aerial, and LED together to create unique and vibrant performances, sometimes uniting all four in a single act
Lights by Laseronics for your eye holes.

Mrs Tom of Finland
Doing Pride the Mrs way (you know, themes, my favorite) means Tom of Finland. So get out your best leather or sailor outfit (will I get to wear it again so soon?!) and giantest dildo because whether you were born with a member or no it ain’t no ToF…
Hostess (Kaj-Anne) Pepper Pepper will be there (with butch queen realness? I can only surmise) as well as special guest performer Dieana Dae who join residents Ill Camino and Portland’s biggest queer DJ BeyondaDoubt and photobooth maven Ally Picard.
HOW IT WORKS BBZ:
♥ LOOK FIERCE & HAVE FUN CHILDREN ♥
MRS is an queer event encouraging unbridled creativity & participation while we celebrate YOU, our community.
It’s not just about being the MRS, but about creating a visually expressive, fun, liberating nightlife experience for all of us homos.
How it works:
1: You vote on the themes that inspire you on our page facebook.com/MRS.PDX
2: You & your friends come dressed in your interpretations of that theme.
3: Get in that Bloodhound photobooth!
4: The MRS is chosen, gets a photoshoot with Ally
& basically receives a free party with guest list & drink tickets!
5: Repeat monthly 🙂
