5th annual Portland Pride Comedy Showcase with Jason Stuart!
Hosted by Seattle transwoman comedian, Barbara Sehr start your Pride weekend off with 2 chances for laughs courtesy Jason Stuart and Belinda Carroll. I’d try to drink some coffee and stay up for the later show as after 11 it’s R rated (though c’mon, we’re Portland, we can take NC-17).
This NW Pride comedy showcase’s 5th anniversary has the pleasure of bringing you Jason Stuart, a 20 year comedy veteran with appearances on LOGO,NBC, Comedy Central and so much more! The prolific character actor has a Stand-Up Special, Jason Stuart: Making it to the Middle and CD Jason Stuart: Gay Comedy Without A Dress under his belt and just completed in Love is Strange opposite John Lithgow, Alfred Molina & Marisa Tomei.

Club Culo Discoteca
As much as I love queer partying in this town it can (after 10+ years) start to feel like the same night with the same white crowd over and over. Not so when queer cumbia comes to town. A night that has happened in spurts before is back with a Pride Edition reemergence that’s going to get the latin vibe back off the ground for real.
So bienvenidos a Club Culo, un reventon para maricones y tortilleras con DJs:
BeyondaDoubt
Te Amo
Ill Camino
Papi Chulo
and, as always, Troubled Youth keeping it real at the door and on the floor.
And though I may have named Queerlandia my Thursday night pick I’m so glad it is around the corner from Culo cuz you know imma be there.

Queer Heroes NW 2014 Opening Party
Please join us at Q Center once again this year for the 2014 Queer Heroes NW kick-off party! Many of this year’s heroes will be in attendance.
Queer Heroes NW is a project of Q Center and Gay & Lesbian Archives of the Pacific Northwest (GLAPN).
We honor a Queer Hero for every day in June – 30 in all – as part of our celebration of Pride. Our community nominates the heroes – living or dead, representing every color of our rainbow, from every corner of our region. A committee made up of former Queer Heroes honorees and LGBTQ community members make the final selections.
FREE, 5-7pm

Queerlandia
Now in its 3rd (4th? I dunno, I’m getting old) year, Queerlandia is becoming the traditional kickoff for Portland Pride and also a reminder that Embers, the only gay bar still sporting prominent rainbows in a very visible area downtown, is still a thing. It’s a particularly great start because it features not only the club vibe dance party but also a craft fair, performances and 2 rooms to give you room to create the Pride that’s right for you.
Host Serendipity Jones will guide you through a stage that is bound to be energetic with performances from Carla Rossi + the Gays of Future Past and there are so many DJs you’ll be exhausted dancing (yeah on a Thursday) through the sets of:
Riff-Raff (Shade | Seattle’s Opulent Queer Empire)
Sappho (Turnt Up!/Chicken Strip/Hard Yes)
HOLD MY HAND (Bridge Club/Polari)
Orographic (Queerlandia/Bridge Club)
Huf N Stuf (Queerlandia/Bridge Club)
And in the chiller corner are caricatures by Tuna Doodle and goods to quench your local shopping thirst by Scrafts, Bang Bang Crafts and more.
And lest you forget that being gay wasn’t always (and still isn’t always) just a big party, it is also a benefit for Bradley Angle’s LGBTQ domestic violence services.

Rainbow Connection PDX Launch Party!
Rainbow Connection PDX is a new medical marijuana dispensary located at NE Sandy and 67th. It was born out of a passion for social justice – a significant portion of the profits will go to support the LGBT Elder Housing project founded by RCPDX partner Melissa Egan.
We are excited to open in July 2014, with our fabulous and knowledgeable staff of budtenders, stylish digs and lovingly curated high quality selection of medicinal flower, concentrates, tinctures, edibles, salves and more.
Melissa, along with partners Nancy Robinson and Alicia J. Rose are excited to invite you to join Team Rainbow Connection PDX at Crush during Pride week to learn more about RCPDX and the effort to legalize marijuana at the ballot box this fall.
We are gearing up for a mid-July launch but wanted to get the party started Pride-style! Will you join us?
Free, 4:20 – 7:00 pm; brief remarks at 6:00
