queerlandia

Now in its 3rd (4th? I dunno, I’m getting old) year, Queerlandia is becoming the traditional kickoff for Portland Pride and also a reminder that Embers, the only gay bar still sporting prominent rainbows in a very visible area downtown, is still a thing. It’s a particularly great start because it features not only the club vibe dance party but also a craft fair, performances and 2 rooms to give you room to create the Pride that’s right for you.

Host Serendipity Jones will guide you through a stage that is bound to be energetic with performances fromĀ Carla Rossi + the Gays of Future Past and there are so many DJs you’ll be exhausted dancing (yeah on a Thursday) through the sets of:

Riff-Raff (Shade | Seattle’s Opulent Queer Empire)
Sappho (Turnt Up!/Chicken Strip/Hard Yes)
HOLD MY HAND (Bridge Club/Polari)
Orographic (Queerlandia/Bridge Club)
Huf N Stuf (Queerlandia/Bridge Club)

And in the chiller corner are caricatures by Tuna Doodle and goods to quench your local shopping thirst by Scrafts, Bang Bang Crafts and more.

And lest you forget that being gay wasn’t always (and still isn’t always) just a big party, it is also a benefit for Bradley Angle’s LGBTQ domestic violence services.

9pm, Thursday June 12th

Embers
110 NW Broadway
