Really, I kinda think the 90s are back with a vengeance and I did always have a hard time letting go of the Peace, Love, Unity, Respect mantra. Plus with a photo like [...]  Just some of the super hot go go dancers, Chase Bender, Chance McKinsey, & Storm Titley, appearing at Queer Cornucopia Looks like we are all finally recovered from Pride, because the weekends are back. There’s more than enough to keep you busy but the most exciting reunion of this week (cuz, yeah, there’s more comin’ up) is the return of Puppet and Stormy‘s Booty: Queer as Ye Be. But the [...]  Gay Cat Wow – what a weekend. I don’t know about you, but I’m still recovering, and finding glitter in unexpected places. This year’s Pride was an amazing experience for me. Five nights, ten parties, two marches, and zero gay bashings or homophobic incidents (as far as we know). A vibrant, powerful and peaceful pride despite a lot of changes this year – to the Pride route, to step-off [...]  Trans Family picnic I am so not ready to recap and recuperate from Pride, but I did manage to get some photo galleries from the Trans Family picnic as well as Friday night parties Crave, Gaycation and Robo-Bogo/One Night Stand.  Bearracuda at Branx/Rotture Yeah, what’s up with Friday night this Pride? It is a doozy. I mean, I’ve had to work really hard to pare down my nightlife route and even so I’m still attempting 4 parties. Tonight is a busy night! We suggest the following… Start off at “I love your stuff S*express Y*ourself”. DJ’s Freddie Fagula and No-No will be spinning and it’s a great pre-funk event. funner than this One of Portland’s favourite queer nights, gaycation, is turning an amazing, post toddleresque total of 4 years old! Given the short lifespan of queer nights in this city, we’re very happy that Gay Cay is around and going stronger ever. Come celebrate with Mr Charming, DJ Snowtiger and special guest KIM ANN FOXMAN (of Hercules & Love Affair). Bearracuda returns to Portland Saturday The beginnings of autumn may have put a slight lull into Portland’s queer nightlife as we all toyed with the idea of staying in, cuddling our snuggies, but I assure you this was a temporary lapse in judgment. We are still two weeks out from Halloween and already the weekend is packed with dress up dance parties. Tonight’s monthly lady party, Crave, at Crush (1400 SE [...] The very first order of business upon returning from Mexico late last night is most certainly tonight’s dueling Dirty Dancing flash mob celebrations at the two most infamous gay nights in town, Gaycation and Blow Pony. Holocene’s night will begin at midnight at Blow Po goes down at 1am. Below is an instructional video from Gaycay’s Mr. Charming and the always-performing Max Voltage. Watch and you’ll be ready to celebrate [...] I hate it when this happens. Portland is so gaymazing that some of the best events must overlap. But still I know these folks all know each other. We couldn’t make one dance night on Saturday? Nevertheless, you should try to make it to at least 1 of these fantastic events. The competing club nights Gaycation at Holocene (1001 SE Morrison) and Fruitcake at Rumpspankers (700 NE Dekum) are both great [...] All 4 signature drinks from left to right: Blueberry, Basil, Pomegranate and Lavender Glosses. All I can say is that organizer Carlee Smith puts on a damn good party, and the newly opened Invasion Atomic Lounge (412 SW 4th) is the perfect swanky spot in which to host it. Opening night was the perfect melding of delicious drinks and alcohol soaked nibbly things, wandering chit chat, and aurally satisfying relaxation. And [...] Opening night at Invasion Somehow, the capacity for puns that so enthrals fellow blogger PerryWinkle has taken residence in my own writing style, hence the potentially painful title of this post. Luckily, you can sooth your aching ears with the much smoother sounds and surroudings at Portland’s newest ladies’s night, Gloss, at Portland’s newest queer bar, Invasion. Put on by Portland’s premiere Fatshionista Carlee Smith, of Fat Fancy, Gloss is a [...] Many of us started the patriotic party early with last night’s Delicious but it’s not time to take off those dancing shoes yet because you’ve got 2 days to go. You’ve already been alerted to tonight’s Gaytriotic Gaycation, but July 4th itself also busts out with the new Casual Encounters at Rotture. One of the best parts of this party is the amazing back patio, perfect for Willamette fireworks watching. Like
BOYJOY and DJ GIRLFRIENDS are special guests! It’s time to get out your best, most gaytriotic partywear and saunter down to Holocene for some of that yum, yum Gaycation Fruit Flavour!
