Indeed my newly out 14 year old self swooned over the dreamy screamy vocals of Trish Walsh and Peyton Marshall. For most of the length of their pop punk career I snapped photos, carried around around one of their 2 CDs [...] Even my favorites aren’t safe from teasing. This is a pretty amusing little Lady Gaga Christmas album spoof in video form. Lady Gaga gets in the holiday spirit with this compilation of soon to be classics such as Bad Snowmans and Ho-ho-Hoker Face . Well, worse things could happen. The official video for Simian Mobile Disco’s Cruel Intentions, featuring Beth Ditto on vocals. To be released on January 4th, Cruel Intentions is taken from SMDs latest album Temporary Pleasure which was released in August through Wichita Recordings. Like I’m obsessed with Lady Gaga, and how can you not be? Her new video for Bad Romance is set in a blindingly white bathhouse. Who knew so weird could be so hot. 1 person likes this post. After attending a video release party in NYC in early May, I eagerly awaited the online arrival of Athens Boys Choir’s “EZ Heeb” directed by former Portlander Ali Cotterill. It took many months but the rollerskating, Atlantic City fantasy date is funny on the inter-tubes. Like I’m not exactly sure what balloon-headed, unitard-wearing, rollerskating has to do with love, but the video for the Gossip’s most recent release “Love Long Distance” (from the brand-spanking new album Music for Men) is charming and wonderful nevertheless. It’s worth watching for the keytar alone, but really the animated floating heads of Beth Ditto, Brace Payne and Hannah Blillie are ridiculously cute. Love Long Distance Like One of the queerest straight girls in showbiz Storm Large is a favorite to just about everybody, but locals will especially appreciate the gender-bending hilarity set against familar backdrops such as the Someday Lounge, Mary’s strip club and South park blocks. Plus it’s just fun to say vagina. Oh and the song’s pretty good too… Like Men I can’t believe I almost forgot about tonight’s Men show at the Doug Fir (830 E Burnside). Le Tigre fans will recognize the electronic artsy dance fun spearheaded by JD Samson. Here’s a little snippet from the current J/O Diversion: Like The Gossip’s upcoming album Music for Men has a rather confusing title but this infomercial should explain it all. Like Men: Ginger Brooks, Takahashi, JD Samson and Michael O’Neill MEN, a project largely piloted by Le Tigre’s JD Samson, now includes Michael O’Neill (Princess, Ladybug Transistor) and Ginger Brooks Takahashi (LTTR, The Ballet) with Johanna and artist Emily Roysdon contributing as writers, consultants, and producers.
