 Gay Cat Wow – what a weekend. I don’t know about you, but I’m still recovering, and finding glitter in unexpected places. This year’s Pride was an amazing experience for me. Ill Camino, Trans Fat and a slightly wounded organizer Freddie Fagula will not disappoint no matter what. Friday, you must emerge from the darkness into a stark No Shade policy. Brought to you by DJ Lifepartner and [...]  Special appearance by DJ Beyonda Though we’ve actually gained an hour of light at the end of our sunny spring days, dusk is still the witching hour for frisky queer gatherings. Organizer and DJ Freddie Fagula is feeling the spring fever, categorizing the beginning as last week’s Bent. With a crowded, sweaty dance floor and hot homos sidling up to one another I can’t say I disagree. He aims to keep [...] DJ Nolita is leaving us! We all knew that Fruitcake was struggling when it lost its Northeast Portland venue to the lures of medical marijuana, but the final death throes came when founder DJ Nolita announced she was leaving Portland for the wide open sea of San Fran. Not only will she be missed, but so will the insiders night that quickly became a Nopo favorite. Our only consolation? A [...] So we’re all still sad that the holidays are over and, more importantly, that Fruitcake is breathing its last breaths. And to top it off, its Monday. Lame. Still, we have the chance to gaily celebrate once again the emergence of a new weekly (that’s right not monthly when the full moon hits or some other bs) queer dance night, Manic Mondays. A daytime view of Rumpspankers Last Friday our Nopo prayers were answered when Fruitcake, a new queer dance night, took over Rumpspankers on Northeast Dekum. And if the packed house and slew of bicycles parked at the door is any indication, a repeat performance is most surely in order. Like

But this Friday April 24th Fruitcake, a queer social night held at the absolutely adorable Rumpspankers Pub (700 NE Dekum), right on one of the next blossoming streets, hosts a special fundraiser for Fat Fancy.
